Bunche Pool Park
The City of Miami Gardens advertised for design-build services for its first group of new bond issue projects. Bunche Park was located in an underserved area of the city, where the residents had been waiting a long time for a new park. RDC was awarded the project after a highly competitive design-build bid process.
The new Bunche Park pool project includes a new 2,496-sq.-ft. main building that houses restrooms, locker rooms, a family restroom, ticket booth, park offices, lifeguard office, storage and expansive overhangs for shade. The pool is a 25-yard short course pool with zero entry. It was designed with the community’s needs in mind: training, lap swimming, learn to swim, water aerobics, and recreational swimming. Pool equipment and sanitation systems are state of the art and include a saltwater generator, heaters and automation systems. Other park features include a parking lot, site utilities, landscaping, irrigation site furnishings and lighting.
