Blavatnik Family Aquatics Center
Blavatnik Family Aquatic Facility represents a new generation of community-focused aquatic design, created to bring families, swimmers of all ages together in a welcoming and engaging environment. The project replaces an aging pool building with a bright, Tropical- Contemporary complex defined by clean lines, open-air connections, and durable materials tailored to South Florida’s climate.
At the center of the facility is the Learn to Swim Building, designed as a playful yet functional architectural focal point for young swimmers. A sculptural fixed awning connects the main structures, forming a shaded breezeway that guides visitors toward the children’s pools while providing comfort throughout the day. Above, a Kalwall clerestory system introduces soft, diffused daylight into the space, enhancing visibility while minimizing heat and glare. The facility also includes 4 Myrtha stainless-steel pools, modern locker rooms, multipurpose spaces, dry-land training areas, and shaded walkways, creating a cohesive, accessible, and family-friendly aquatic environment.
