As part of the City of Sunrise’s “Neighborhood Renaissance” program, RDC demolished the park’s aging facilities, and in their place designed and built a community center, 10 new shaded picnic shelters and an oversized ADA accessible playground.
The state-of-the-art center contains restroom facilities, office space, warehouse facilities and a community room perfect for arts and crafts classes, after-school programs and meetings. The hexagon-shaped picnic shelters range in size from 20′ to 40′, and four are equipped with gas grills, electricity and water. The shaded, barrier-free playground enables children with disabilities to join in the fun while being protected from harmful UV rays.
RDC wrapped up the project with roadway improvements, fencing, landscaping, irrigation and park furniture
